Our extensive media selection allows us to deliver solutions for virtually any application and accommodate any OEM-style baghouse, including:
- Pulse Jet and Reverse Air baghouse systems
- Corrosive gas streams
- Challenging particulates
- Nuisance collection or product recovery
Below is a detailed guide to help you choose the appropriate dust collector bags for your specific needs. If you have any questions or require assistance, our experts are ready to help.
Types of Dust Collector Bags
Pulse Jet Bags
- Ideal for dry dust applications
- Operate at higher air-to-cloth ratios than shaker or reverse air collectors
- Dust collects on the outside of the bag
- Cleaned through a high pressure blast of compressed air
- Typically made from non-woven materials unless used in high-temperature applications
- Compatible with Pulsaire units with bags up to 26 feet in length
Pleated Bags for Pulse Jet Dust Collectors
- MikroPul’s pleated bags offer solutions for issues like bottom bag abrasion, insufficient airflow, high pressure drop, and elevated emission rates.
- Increase filtration area by 200-300%, reducing air-to-cloth ratios and allowing higher airflow.
- Serve as direct replacements for traditional filter bags and cages
- Benefits include reduced emissions, lower maintenance costs, improved dust release, and extended filter life
Reverse Air Bags
- Suitable for large air volume applications such as wood and metal industries
- Dust collects on the inside of the bags
- Cleaned through a back flush or air and mechanical flexing of the bag fabric
- Features off-line cleaning with bags that remain open during cleaning due to anti-collapse rings
- Typically made from woven or lightweight non-woven filter bags

- Poor resistance to mineral acids unless treated with acid-resistant finishes.
- Sensitive to bag-to-cage fit due to applied finishes.
- Fair energy absorption and filtration properties.
Aramid
- Max continuous operating temperature: 375°F.
- Excellent abrasion resistance.
- Good resistance to moist heat and alkalis.
- Fair resistance to mineral acids.
- Good energy absorption and excellent filtration properties.
PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide)
- Max continuous operating temperature: 375°F.
- Good abrasion resistance and excellent performance in moist heat, alkalis, and mineral acids.
- Not recommended for applications with oxygen content above 15%.
- Good energy absorption and excellent filtration properties.
P84 (Polyimide)
- Max continuous operating temperature: 500°F.
- Ideal for high-temperature applications like smelters, asphalt plants, and coal-fired boilers.
- Excellent in high oxygen content environments.
- Fair resistance to alkalis and good resistance to mineral acids and moist heat.
- Fair performance in high abrasion applications.
- Requires oversized bags for temperatures above 450°F due to shrinkage.
Teflon
- Max continuous operating temperature: 500°F.
- Most expensive option, used mainly in high-temperature applications.
- Excellent resistance to moist heat, alkalis, mineral acids, and high oxygen content.
- Good energy absorption and fair filtration properties.
- Good performance in high abrasion applications.
- Requires oversized bags for temperatures above 450°F due to shrinkage.
